Creative Ways to Enjoy Halloween From Morning to Night

Halloween does not have to begin when the sun goes down. By thinking of it as a day, and not just an evening, you can make the most of this special holiday. There are many ways to do this. You can spend the morning, afternoon, evening, and night enjoying Halloween with creative and fun activities. It's all about how you spend it.

Start the Morning Off Right With a Touch of Halloween

The morning is a great time to set the mood. Add a little something spooky to your routine, and you are on your way to a great day of Halloween fun.

Try making a Halloween-themed breakfast. Orange pancakes, a spider shaped fruit plate, or black and orange sprinkles on your toast are all great ways to kick it off.

Have some spooky music playing while you get ready. Even just a few songs can change your morning into something a little more festive.

Wear a little Halloween accessory while getting ready. Paint your face, wear some spooky undergarments, or put on some orange and black clothes to get into the spirit of the day a little earlier than usual.

Do Projects in the Afternoon

The afternoon is a great time to do projects and other more involved Halloween tasks.Carve your pumpkins. Try working on them earlier in the day so you can take your time with it, and enjoy the fruits of your labor later in the evening.

Make crafts or other Halloween-themed projects. Bats made from paper, painted pumpkins, or any other fun projects that you can do with your kids are great ways to pass some time while also getting into the Halloween spirit.

Bake or cook something special for later in the day, or the next day. Ghost cookies, pumpkin bread, or popcorn balls are all fun treats to make in the afternoon.

Decorate. Try to finish up the decorating by the end of the day, or at least before it gets dark. That way, you can really enjoy seeing all of your hard work come together for the big night.

Get Costumed and Set Up for the Evening in the Late Afternoon

The late afternoon is a great time to do some of the more involved tasks that you might not have time for during the day.

Get dressed or help your children get dressed. If you are doing a costume change, getting a group together to all get ready at the same time can also be a fun activity.

Take pictures. This is the perfect time to take pictures since you will have lots of natural lighting, which often looks better than using a flash at night.

Get your jack-o-lanterns lit up. The last thing you want is to rush to get them all set up and lit as soon as it gets dark. This can also be a fun tradition that you can look forward to every year.

Make the Evening Your Main Event

The evening should be the main event. There is no reason why it shouldn't be! Halloween is traditionally associated with evenings, after all.

Go trick-or-treating, or have people trick-or-treat at your house. Trick-or-treating or having people at your house are both great ways to kick off your evening. Either way, it's sure to be a busy time of the day!

Go on a walk. After the excitement of trick-or-treating dies down, taking a walk is a great way to enjoy everything that you've done so far.

Host an event. Hosting an event for your friends or family can be a great way to cap off your evening.

End Your Night With Some Calm Alone Time

The end of the day should always be relaxing. The end of the Halloween day should be no different. Halloween can be quite the day, so taking some time to wind down is always a good idea.

Watch a movie. Watching a Halloween-themed movie to bring everything to a close is a great way to end things on a good note. Just make sure to pick something that everyone will enjoy!

Spend some time outside. Taking some time to enjoy the cool night air is a great way to end the day. Especially after a long day of Halloween festivities.

Sort through your candy. Sorting through the candy that you have collected is a great way to spend some time with your family and friends.

Make Sure to Think of Your Whole Day as Halloween

Even just making a few changes to your normal routine can be enough to transform an ordinary day into a day that everyone can remember. You don't need to spend your whole day running around to different Halloween events in order to have a great day. Just making sure to include a few special touches to your morning, afternoon, and night will be enough to make everyone feel as if they have spent a day worthy of Halloween. Everything will feel much more spread out, and less rushed, as you make more use of the whole day instead of just saving everything for the night.
